BetterWorld Affordable Art Therapy Option

We’re living though challenging times. Perhaps you struggled with emotions or relationships, or a job, or unemployment for some time. You tried everything you can think of, but things didn’t improve. You searched for excellent therapeutic help, but private pay therapy is too expensive. You don’t want to go with a random no-name therapist off your insurance provider list; that seems risky. Perhaps you don’t have insurance right now.

If this sounds like you, read on!

PhATA Offers an Affordable Therapy Service with Lower Fees & Adjustable Rates to Fit Your Financial Situation

Individual Therapy: $70 per 1-hour session

If these rates are still too expensive, DON’T WORRY! We will work with you to figure out a fee that won’t financially harm your family. We NEVER want finances to stand between you and critical Art Therapy services.

If you ask for sliding rates, we will need to review your most recent tax return or pay stub. The therapist will plug the information into a grid-system that determines the discount level you are eligible for based on income (according to U.S. Federal Poverty Guidelines and size of your household).

* Need-Based Adjustable Fees

As you continue to read through this page, we hope you will be relieved because help is finally within reach! Imagine getting high level Art Therapy and you only pay what you can afford!

Why Have Fees at All?
For therapy to be successful there needs to be a meaningful exchange of VALUE. The value offered by the therapist-intern is time, training, effort, expertise, and customer service. Clients return value in the form of payment. Therapy does not work well when it is completely free because the exchange of value is missing. We respect your financial needs and we expect you to respect the clinician’s need to be paid.

Who Are The Therapists?
PhATA’s affordable therapy program hires, trains, and supervises outstanding Art Therapy interns. We interview and contract with only the very best Art Therapy graduate students from highly respected graduate schools. They must be emotionally mature, talented clinicians at top of their class and wonderful citizens in their programs. The interns we hire are passionate about ongoing professional and personal self-improvement. They receive intensive training and mentorship from PhATA’s clinical associates. You can feel confident that your therapy process is overseen by the power and wisdom of the entire clinical team at the Philadelphia Art Therapy Associates and the Child and Family Art Therapy Center.

How to enroll in Affordable Art Therapy at PhATA – The process is as easy as 1-2-3!

1) Contact our admissions coordinator, Candice Lespoir:
email: connect@childandfamilyarttherapycenter.com or
phone at: (610) 649-1080 x1
Let Candice know that you are looking for adult Art Therapy services and that you are interested in the Affordable Therapy Option and she will connect you with Marlie Krickus, BetterWorld Accessible Therapy Program coordinator. If we have a therapy appointment time that might fit your schedule…move to step #2.

2) The intern holds a free 30-minute phone consultation with you.
When you connect, the intern will describe our services in detail and inquire about your needs and goals for therapy. Together, you’ll figure out whether our services and fee structure will work for you.

3) If you and the intern agree on an appointment time, costs, etc., then you can schedule the first face to face assessment session and begin your therapy process.
If, for any reason our services are not a good fit for your needs, we’ll try to refer you and your child to another agency for therapy.

The Treatment Contract

When you enroll in therapy with us, you and the intern make an agreement:
Intern’s responsibility: The intern commits to reserve a meeting time for you and provide therapy for you at the scheduled times. If the intern cancels a session you are not charged. In the unlikely event that the intern no-shows for the session without communicating with you or leaving a message, your next session is free.
Caregiver’s responsibility: The client contracts to pay the agreed upon fee for each scheduled session. If the client cancels a session with at least 24 hours’ notice, then there is no charge for the session. If the client no-shows for an appointment or gives less than 24 hours’ notice for a cancellation, then the client is charged the session rate for that time slot.
